Become”   Founded in 2003, Makkala Jagriti is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that seeks to understand and influence the educational and developmental issues affecting emotionally and economically deprived children in India.   We have a strong belief in the inherent potential of our children and we build an environment where all children – irrespective of their backgrounds – have a right to receive quality education, experience new learning methodologies, develop extra-curricular skills and unleash their potential towards a bright future.   We aim to build a world where children can believe in exercising their individual choices and freedoms to become the person she or he wants to be.   While the child is the central focus of our effort, we have realised that it takes an active engagement with families and the community to create a sustainable environment that can make a positive difference.  Our work, therefore, extends beyond the children to also include the diverse communities around them.
